This is the first time I have bought a Western Digital hard drive. What attracted me most was the price. For the storage capacity it is cheap.

If you are looking for a back-up storage device and not too concerned with the transfer speed via USB then this drive is ideal.

So far I have had no problems with the drive. I use it for storing video and photographs and have not seen any problems accessing the data on the drive itself. Added to the solid build quality, low noise emission and price I would recommend this drive.

Bought this for an amazing pric(thank you yet again Amazon), plugged it into an available USB port, plugged in the mains power supply and XP found it straight away. XP gave it a drive letter then started using it for media work. Forgot it then and weeks on it has not reminded me that it exists.
Perfect for the job, does what it says on the tin, period.

Many thousands of photos and written articles are now stored, where I can easily search for and find, without going to archived CD's. Runs quietly in the background, whilst providing quick access to information.

This is my second Elements hard drive from Western Digital. The newer version has a nicer power pack than the more clumsy old one and a better power connector that actually plugs into the hard drive.
These hard drives seem to be very robust without getting too hot (even after hours of constant use - e.g. reformatting to NTFS). the old one showed no signs of ever letting me down and this newer one seems even better. they are a good price and i would heartily recommend them to anyone looking for an external HD.

This is a great hard disk, looks reliable so far and the main benefit is the huge 1TB space that it provides. Slightly big in size but not too bulky, though wish it came with a USB powered cable rather than a power supply. But overall, it is great value for money and i would recommend it for those looking for large space to store their huge collection. Cheers.
